Night edition

It used to be early to bed, for an early morning trek to the track.  Though this weekend was a change in schedule.  Xtreme speed setup a night time track session at Willow Springs for some of the night owls who have a problem with getting up late.  I must say it's a bit different waking up later, and moving like molasses to load up and head to the track.

When signing up for the event, the roster was pretty low.  I thought this maybe a good test and tune session for Barneekus.  I think there must have a been a bunch of last minute entries, cause it became a full house once I arrived.

Arriving  on site, the sun was still burning and so was the tires. Lots of hoods removed to keep their beasts from over heating.

The chaps from the 909 letting AE86 loose on tarmac like nobodies business.  And with half the horsepower, respect.  I had a chance to tandem, with the black coupe in the foreground.  I must say i was very humbled by the experience.  I guess for me drifiting is not like getting back on bike, i'll need to practice much harder next time.  But next time we meet, I will have my A game on the table..

Oddly, I even met an enthusiast who remembers my car when it look like this many years ago at the Auto Club Speedway.  He seemed very surprised that it was still the same car.  I guess me too since this was in 2005.

The rest of the night was pretty much a blur, but the impromptu competition, made something for a good show.  Congrats to the winners.
