Not everyday

I see a completely stock Lexus sedan with some custom pin striping usually seen on uber custom rides. Is this a dealer option?

Norton Auto X

Just like the previous post on Hollywood Park Autox. Here's a couple pics from and autocross event held at Norton AFB. I think this was about 10 years ago. I wonder if they still use that venue?I think I was still running the RX-3 back then.

Not this one, this a national champion car. I looked up that car for inspiration. But then again I was hanging around too many pinoys who were nuts over TRD and AE86.

10 years later, do you recognize some of these people?

Cheap bender redo

Decided to redo the bender I created last year.

Saw this on a web search and decided I can make one too. I was kinda bored lately, so it was something to try.

I started doing sketches on how I was going to approach the project. Then gathered a bunch of spare metal laying around the garage I slowly pieced together this newest creation.

Not too bad so far.

Adding some bracing for some possible heavy duty action. The welds look pretty.

Nice clean bend. Not bad for something that cost next to nothing.

Maybe next time i'll try and build a bigger one. Maybe like this one.

Grand Prix du Canada

Well after a lag from my Canada posts, let's take a look at the Formula 1 event itself the reason why I even bother going to Canada. Thank god it wasn't raining that weekend. It was actually the very opposite. Hot and sunny with some humidity thrown in, which reminded of days when I used to live on the east coast.

He won the event.

I wish he won the event.

AMG wagon. This thing sounded so mean. I like it.

People with a lot of team spirit.

The brakes, they glow.

After the race was over, the track was open for visitors to roam around. The view from the driver's perspective was simply amazing.

The track was much bigger than I thought. Walking to the start finish line was so long, our seats was located at turn 10. Which is basically the other side of the track.

Team USA out to lend a hand to teams in need of help

Thanks for visiting. For the rest of the pics swing by here. Or if you hate racing but love Montreal like I do, go here.

The Last Meal

Well time has come to say good bye to Montreal. I've enjoyed every minute. I hope to visit again and enjoy the hospitality.

A few pics before we leave to remember this day.

Someone really loves Triscuits.

Ferrari fans showing their colors. I wonder if they all own Ferrari's?

A view of our seats from the other side of the track.

There's bits of this stuff all around the track. Just gotta have a good eye. I wonder who this belonged too?

Now I just need a car.
The last meal. And yes it was fresh.

I hope you enjoyed. There is alot more pics but only so much time. Next time will be some track time.

Montreal Part Deux

Another day wonderful Montreal. Did I tell you how much I love this place. Check the previous post. Today we go to the famed Gilles Villeneuve Circuit.

The best way to get there is by Montreal's subway system. Just like Japan, it's very easy to use and so convenient. It was just a block away from our hotel.

There is still quite a bit of walking required to get to the track itself since it's in a park, Parc Jean-Drapeau.

After the subway, you need to go through the forest

Next is crossing a bridge.

Then it's through another forest, by the time you get out, you're greeted by this guy on the big screen.

Nice Canadian girls giving out some stuff.

Ferrari's pit crew on a break.

To here these things at full song is so beautiful. So loud, yet so sweet. Qualifications for today was so exciting since at the last minute Lewis Hamilton pulled a rabbit out of his helmet with the pole on his last lap with barely enough gas to make the finish. I'm sure you all know that already.

Now let's take another walk about the city. I don't know if was Formula 1 or the World Cup, but there was a bunch of things going on everywhere around downtown.

More strip club action.

One street played host to a fashion show.

Another street featured a band playing old rock covers.

With a couple of campaign girls.

There was a lot more going on, but i'm all tuckered out from all this walking. Til next time au revoir.
