After being blown away by the Zatoichi movies, I looked for more blind swordsman movies. I came across the movie Ichi. I had high hopes on this movie. But it was kinda of a let down. But then again I was probably expecting another Zatoichi kind of plot. It was probably going a different direction.

Like the article said, what made the old Zatoichi movies good was how believable Ichi was. He was funny, humble and epically skilled with the lighting sword yet he seemed to always wonder into unfortunate situations and sometimes he had a bit of a prejudice streak. He was a very well balanced character.
