Adam Carolla and 3 other guys
Since Adam's demise at Top Gear USA, he has gone on to host another car show, called The Car Show (that took alot of thought). I wanted to check out the show, so I attended one of the taping sessions this past weekend,to see what this has to offer. Let me tell you, don't expect Top Gear from this show. The show comes in on a different tangent and right up in your face. Very different and very raw. But then it kinda reminds me a car version of The View. But i'd rather watch this show. Leaving know no stone unturned the show let's the audience their true feelings in the automotive world. Adams potty mouth even takes a wack at the Corolla GTS. If you're a gear head or have any interest in cars and have an open mind, it's a show worth checking out. If you're thinking out side the bun, this show maybe for you. Check it out July 13th on Speed. At least they're starting to have more car related shows, instead of cooking and talent shows WTH?!

the review

went to a ton of driving events. no i didn't drive in all of them.

Had the opportunity to see the filming of Top Gear USA pilot show. It's actually pretty good contrary to popular internet belief. too bad they're going to cable.

Viewed the Monterey Historics. if you wanna see some old stuff this is it. next time it'll be goodwood.

Attended the Jim Hall Karting school. i should give up cars and race karts. it seems alot less maintenance.

decided to make the race car into a show car and entered my car at TORC. didn't win anything, but it was the easiest event i entered. maybe i should start doing these from now on.
Visited the toyota and datsun museum.

enjoyed a few import shows of with the old school flavor of course.

picked up a new race car

as this year comes to a close let's wave one last good bye to 2008 and say hi to 2009.

Top Gear USA

Top Gear USA coming soon to an NBC station. For many American car enthusiasts, this is the long awaited show that has been cloned from our former masters across the pond, the British. I never watched a complete episode of the British version, only small snippets, so I can’t really compare it with the original. I was fortunate to attend a taping of the first episode this past weekend.
I think it’s a mixture of The Man Show (comedy wise no girls on trampoline here probably because Adam Carolla is the host) , Motor Trend, and any MTV reality show all thrown together. To keep its BBC roots they even brought over the original Top Gear producers to assist in the making of the American version. They pretty much kept many of the segments of the British version. Car reviews, The Stig, Star in a reasonably priced car etc. will be used. The main host Adam Carolla did a marvelous job and made the show very entertaining with his witty comments. Tanner Foust brings his knowledge of cars and racing to the table is probably the voice of reason in this bunch. Eric Stromer is the home improvement guy to give an outside perspective, we cars guys are always stubborn sometimes never thinking out of the box.
According to my friends who are more in tune with the British version really enjoyed the show and say it’s pretty much the same as the British counterpart. One commented that it was funnier, but that’s his opinion. You’ll just have to wait for the first episode. I can say that the first episode will be a good one. Hopefully, the rest of
