Must do

After working with fiberglass a few months back, decided to try my hand at some repair work.  I broke a sideskirt in 2 pieces recently, so it was the perfect candidate for the repair.  Always being on a budget, gotta save dollars whenever possible.

Setup a splint to hold the 2 pieces together.   Unfortunately i'm missing a chunk of the skirt.  Left it somewhere at Buttonwillow raceway.

Mixed up the materials and started layering the fiberglass and resin.  It started getting messy, make sure you use a drop cloth.  The resin, when dry, really sticks to the concrete and ends up being a pain to remove.

And with the magic of the internet, i'm pretty much finished.  All that is required is some body filler and sanding to smooth it out.  It's not pretty but at least it's got a new lease on life.  Not as hard as I thought it would be.  The best thing to to do is practice with working with fiberglass by itself before attempting any repair work, just to get a handle on how this stuff works.

A wise man in a movie I watched many sunrises ago had a saying, it went like this.  Do or do not, there is no try.
