Going Home

This engine is finally going home. I think this thing has been here at least a year, forget how long it's been here. But at least it's one less engine that has to be pushed around. BTW do you recgonize the engine? It's a 2F engine from Toyota Landcruiser. It's really heavy engine, and does not make much horsepower. You would think the owner would prefer dropping in a Chevy 350. But I guess he wants to keep it real. Maybe we'll see it at TORC, which is happening in the month of May.

Binge

The cover to the Macross Memorial DVD Box Set ...Image via Wikipedia

I'm not dead yet, just hella lazy. I've been on an anime binge. Watching old school stuff I haven't seen some not in quite some time.

Macross (not Robotech)

Mobile Suit Gundam (the very first one)

Johnny Sokko and his flying robot. (aka Giant Robo)

Making more tools

When I first installed a limited slip into my car, it required special tool which I didn't want to buy. There are times when you don't wanna cough cash for a tool you think you'll only use once or twice. Though I could have gone and used needle nose pliers. But I love my Snap On tools that much not to use them in that manner.

Hence I made this tool. To set back lash on the adjusting rings. Which is a requirement for Toyota differentials.

I even tried using it to tighten down the crush sleeve. And if you know the torque required for that, then you know it's futile. I ended up making another bar that's as long as a breaker bar to handle that job.

Even after a few years and a bunch more diffs later I still use it. Now it's like why bother getting the special tool when this one works so well.

Kung Fu Brother

This was my first thought after watching the new Karate Kid trailer. You'd think this title would make alot more sense. It has nothing to do with karate or japan for that matter. Oh well I guess Kung fu and Karate will probably look the same anywhere outside asia.

TDC Rewind

Just random pics from the Team Drift Championship.

When at a ricer meet, make sure bring the rice cooker.

Drifter's porn

This guy's car broke during the middle of the day. I did my best Macgyver impression and helped fix his car with a hair pin. (Honest truth).

He's from Nor Cal. I think he could be apart of the Matt Lee Crue

Ram Vans on Wats

I never cared much for american vans much. Since they're a headache to work on, very bland, and just simply not that cool, since the days murals and dual rear axles have fallen out of style. But I think this might light that fire again. Since it's rain cats and dogs I started catching up on Jalopnik and found a small group of Dodge van enthusiasts from the land of the rising sun (Japan) have started putting cool back into vans. Never in my life would I dreamed up installing Watanabes on a van. Oddly enough it 's a bunch of VW guys talking about this stuff on their forum.
